Listen up Salon Fanatics there’s a new and convenient way to keep tabs of the polish and gel colors used during your salon visits. Indulge: the Nail Snob App helps you keep a log of the pretty hues you’ve previously worn and take pictures of your fresh manicures and pedicures.
“The goal is simple. Never forget another nail polish name,” says Velina Ivanova, co-founder of the app which was the first runner up of the Disrupt New York Hackaton 2014 hosted by TechCrunch.
Here’s how it works: Once at a salon, use the app to check in to the location (similar to Foursquare), pick out a color whether polish or gel, snap a picture of the bar code on the bottle so the information pops up, and the app records the data for posterity. Afterward, the app will send you a push notification prompting the user to take a photo of their freshly painted digits which can be shared to social networks.
The app is free and available to download here. While you’re downloading apps, you’ll want to get the Nail Art Gallery one as well.
