My good friend had been eyeing Theory Nail Lounge in Upland, Calif., as a place to potentially have her bachelorette party. Being the salon fanatic that I am (and the fact that I needed a pedicure and gel-polish removal stat), I agreed to accompany her.
Theory definitely puts the “lounge” in Nail Lounge. Guests are greeted with as many drink options as they are polish choices. The main brands carried are OPI and China Glaze (for lacquer) and eight major brands of soak off-gel polish including OPI and Gelish. Upon checking in, you can pick your colors, which are also swatched on tips as well as stocked on shelves.
While you wait for your service, you are ushered passed the nail bar and into the lounge portion of the salon. There is a full bar in the lounge, and I mean full. Local wineries, beers, and just about every bottled beverage you can imagine (including soda and iced coffee) are available. The salon prides itself on this selection, saying they are where “mani & pedi meets beer & wine.” Wine tasting events are even held at the nail lounge and you can R.S.V.P. via e-mail.
I booked online in advance and showed up a few minutes early for my appointment. Considering it was a Saturday, I was completely impressed with the fact that my pedi, soak-off, and lacquer manicure only took an hour in total. That’s three services in one hour! This left me and my friend plenty of time to chat over mimosas. Disclaimer: the alcohol is not included in the services, at least not in the ones we purchased. Still, the prices were very affordable. The salon also has a small jewelry retail section and offers waxing and threading as well. If you’re looking for quick and affordable nail care or the perfect place to sip during a service, schedule a trip to Theory Nail Lounge in Southern California’s Inland Empire.
