Bed of Nails in New York calls itself an “unconventional nail salon.” Their mission statement is simple: provide a sense of R.E.L.I.E.F. (Relaxing Escape with a Lush Invigorating and Essential Feel). The “lush” aspect of the salon can be seen through the luxurious line of nail products they carry. Chanel, Deborah Lippmann, Tom Ford, Essie, and Marc Jacobs are among the famous nail polish names housed in the salon. For gel services Bio Sculpture, Young Nails, and Artistic are all offered. In addition to manicures and pedicures, facials and waxing are also available.
Bed of Nails offers clients the celebrity treatment, probably because owner Candice Idehen is used to pampering some of Hollywood’s finest such as Mary Louis Parker, Jessica Alba, and Estelle. Idehen’s work has been featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar, Brooklyn Magazine, and Vogue Paris. She has done nails for the Louis Vuitton, Victoria Beckham, and Calvin Klein runways as well.
