Sally Hansen recently released a new version of the cult favorite, Pacific Blue. The once cobalt creme polish is now a shimmer jelly and it turns out consumers do not appreciate the change.

Some polish-holics are so up in arms over the reformulation that it even generated the hashtag, #savepacificblue and the launch of this post:

While many rushed to the local retailer to buy off all the remaining originals, others took to Twitter to let Sally Hansen know their dreams of a one-coat opaque blue polish were crushed with the unannounced switch.

“So I went on a serious hunt for back ups of my favorite blue,” said @melimelr on Instagram.

please just put the old formula back. It’s not even the same color!! Don’t mess with something that isn’t broken!” one girl said.

The complaints were heard and Sally Hansen addressed the angry mob. The polish brand released a statement via Twitter:
