Kim Kardashian recently uploaded a Keek video while on vacation in Greece of her getting a fish pedicure. This service entails placing your feet in a tub containing small carp who then ingest the calloused areas of your feet.As you can see from the video, it doesn’t look like Kardashian had the best of times. But you probably don’t even need to see the video to conclude that this may not be a good idea.
This pedicure procedure is a popular import from Asia and the Middle East in France. While this is not something you hear about often in America, it is good to be informed about the potential dangers these pedicures present. The International Nail Technicians Association (INTA) is reminding nail techs to properly clean pedicure equipment and that the association is opposed to any technique that could cause potential harm to the consumer and the industry. Consumers should be cautious and ask questions about the proper cleaning and disinfecting of the fish tank for their own safety. Never be afraid to ask your nail techs questions about sanitation. Just because Kim K. did it, doesn’t mean it’s right for you.
