New York Fashion Week kicks off today, so I wanted to share this shot dug up by nail brand CND (the makers of CND Shellac — though this picture is from well before that time!) from the Baby Phat runway in 2005.
Note the embellishments on the underside. It’s like a sexy secret only to be shared between the wearer, her manicurist, and maybe a few select others who peek a glimpse underneath that flirty free edge.
There were so many variations of the underside-included manicure several years ago. The most pronounced one I remember is the Louboutin Manicure. Named after the iconic shoe, it features a bold red underside, frequently under a solid black conventional coating.
Share your favorite way to deck the underside of your nails in the comments!
