Variations of the French tip manicure where shown off at fashion week making it known that nail art isn’t going anywhere. Rather than creating elaborate and complex patterns for a striking design, the trend is in favor of making a subtle statement by adding eye-catching detail. Here’s my take.
What you will need:
- Detail brush
Step 1
1. Apply a base coat to clean and filed nails. Paint two coats of black polish on all the nails.
Step 2
2. Dip the detail brush in gold polish and outline the top half of each nail. For more precision, rotate the nail when painting under the cuticle instead of moving the brush. It also helps to apply the polish in small dashes versus one straight line if you’ve got an unsteady hand.
Step 3
3. Clean the brush from any gold polish using acetone. Dry it off and dip the detail brush in silver polish and outline the bottom half of the nail. To create a smooth line on the tip, rotate the nail instead of the brush when applying the polish.
Step 4
4. Once the design is completely dry, seal it off with a top coat and clean up as necessary.
