BCA1Paint your nails pink this month to spread awareness for breast cancer. Add ribbons to your nail art in support of the cause. Follow these steps by nail art blogger, Alpana Ladwani, to see how she created a 3-D ribbon to add to any BCA design.

1. Apply a swatch of pink polish on a plastic sheet or sandwich bag. Let it dry for a few hours.

2. Once it’s completely dry, carefully peel off the polish from the plastic. Cut the swatch into thin strips.

3. Wrap the thin strap around a toothpick to create the ribbon shape.

4. Dab clear polish to the accent finger and apply the ribbon over it.

  13. My niece right now is a warrior of this disease.
We grew up together and now are 51 years old. I am supporting her in every which way I can. Thank you so much for showing me how to make these ribbons for my clientele . I will make them tomorrow and start using them on my clients. I have really been pushing the pink for this month AND asking…”when was your last mammogram ? I just got mine done and decided to just keep asking. I don’t want anyone suffer as my niece is now. She is stage 3 and having 14 treatments of chemo prior to surgery. She is now bald. But she is a warrior and she will beat this. I will continue polishing pink nails , but now, with ribbons.

  14. Thank you for the tips. Now I just need some patience to give it a try.
