We love going to cool salons. And sometimes it’s tough to find ones that fit your sensibility. When traveling, I always start with an online search. And I’m a sucker for a really well-designed website. Here are four sites that got my attention long enough to make me want to check them out. (These are all salons that I have visited based on finding them online!)

1. Chi Nail Bar & Organic Spa http://www.chi-nailbar.com

Beautiful salon imagery, full menu (with prices), how to book a salon party — these are just a few of the necessities of a great nail salon website. Chi Nail Bar & Organic Spa in Beverly Hills has all of this and more. Also included? The ability to book appointments and buy gift certificates online. (Click here to read about my visit.)

2. Embellish Nails & Boutique http://embellishnails.com/

It’s great when you can read reviews and other write-ups about a salon before you visit. Embellish Nails & Boutique in Austin, Texas, has a nicely arranged press section, great images that show the salon’s manicure and pedicure stations, as well as the large boutique space. (Click here to read about my visit.)

3. Polished Nail Bar http://ipolished.com

Polished Nail Bar in Charlotte, N.C., has four locations and often hosts fun parties. The home page actually lists the daily parties and hours and includes widgets for its Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter accounts. The site also includes a Media section with photos of clients enjoying themselves at the many parties. It even includes a blog with fashion trends and tips. (Click here to read about my visit.)

4. Sweet Life Nail Bar & Lounge http://www.sweetlifenailbar.com/

Starting off with a beautiful photo gallery, this eclectic salon’s website also includes online appointment booking, a party agreement, and information about products used in the salon. It also includes both a service menu, as well as a cocktail menu (the salon sells wine and other beverages to clients). (Click here to read about my visit.)

Editor’s Note: Every Friday we’ll be posting links to some of our favorite nail and salon sites that we think you should follow. E-mail [email protected] if you have a site you’d like us to consider following.
