While at Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, Calif., for a bachelorette party, I indulged in many of their spa services, including a manicure. I opted for the Glen Ivy Spa Manicure because I had gel-polish that needed to be removed. Currently, the salon offers a 50-or 80-minute spa manicure (or a CND Shellac version, which runs $10 more), or a spa pedicure (the most popular service). Since many salon goers have other appointments in the surrounding spa areas, services cannot run over. No acrylics, gels, or e-files are used at the salon. Since the salon does not offer nail art, an accent nail or matte top coat is suggested for more adventurous clients. French designs cost an additional $5.
You must check in 15 minutes prior to an appointment, so make sure you are out of the pool in time. You are required to fill out forms asking about your nail care history and health while you wait. Unlike many other salons, alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the salon building nor are they offered to guests during a treatment. You can partake in water, tea, or other select beverages to help you relax in this nail oasis.
Relaxation is key to this nail salon. Not only is it located in the heart of a bustling day spa, but this salon has partnered with SpaRitual to offer slow beauty at its best. All of the nail technicians who work here attend SpaRitual training, so services contain more than just prep and polish. Aromatherapy and the entire line of SpaRitual spa products are used in each nail service. If you like what you see your tech using, you can also buy it at the front counter when you check out.
The nail salon is open seven days a week and appointments are only made over the phone. Spa guests who book a nail service get a discount on general spa admission. I suggest you plan your day carefully though, as it’s not recommended to get certain spa services after a mani or pedi. If you don’t book your appointment in advance you can chance snagging one once in the spa, but keep in mind, nothing is guaranteed.
