All the trends right now seem to be embodied in St. Patrick’s Day nail art. Pantone named Emerald the color of the year and we are seeing lots of color everywhere. Don’t just settle for painting your nails all green when you can try out these colorful and creative nail art designs.

Follow the Rainbow

Follow the Rainbow by Stephanie Berry

Stephanie Berry of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, created this pot of gold in five easy steps. Simply polish the nail in your favorite gold hue. Use opaque polishes and a striper brush to paint the colors of the rainbow in a fan shape from the top to about halfway down the nail. Use black nail polish to paint a circle at the base of the rainbow and paint a horizontal line on top of the circle to create the pot. Use green polish and a dotting tool to create shamrocks. Use a striper brush to add a curved line on the pot with white polish. Apply top coat. Apply gold jewels or gems using extra top coat or nail glue.

Another option would be to create designs you love in a green color. These bows are absolutely darling and are the perfect fit for St. Patty’s Day.

You could also use this holiday as an excuse to experiment with nail trends you might not otherwise try. Attempt a marbled manicure, accent nail, or a speckled look with green on green. Regardless of what design you choose, you definitely won’t be getting pinched!
