CND unveiled 36 unique nail designs today at The Blonds Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Show at MILK Studios in New York City. In creating the looks, CND elaborated upon the theme of “The Original Blonde” and played off of the designers’ ode to historical blonde icons set in space. The clothing and nails referenced familiar blondes in art, animation and pop culture, including Tweety Bird, Marilyn Monroe and the Bionic Woman.
“The Blonds’ creative inspiration for this year very much fell in line with our ‘Paradise’ trend prediction, which portrays woman as an exotic bird with bright, bold nails as her ultimate adornment,” says CND co-founder Jan Arnold. The nails explore the paradox of strong animation set against a backdrop of iridescent neon yellow, chrome metallics and holographic teals in reptilian armor-like textures and protective spiked shapes.
