With a keen eye for fashion and skilled manicuring technique, Monica Hughes meshed her love for both outlets to fill a gap in the nail art realm. A Fashion Institute of Technology alumna and licensed nail tech, Hughes noticed detailed imagery, odd shapes, and varied sizes of nail art accessories were hard to find. That’s when she decided to craft her own nail decals, Monica Hues.

Hughes took to the drawing board and developed the concept with inspiration from her beloved cat Bernice. The furry feline is the subject behind the Kitty Head decal set (available here). From there, friends then requested their own custom packs and that’s when Hughes opened an Etsy shop. Since the launch, Hughes says customers have used the handmade packs to promote charity events, book series, bridal parties, and even small businesses. With looks featuring unicorns, iconic NYC landmarks, football helmets, and more, manicure mavens are sure to find a set to match. If not, you can always customize one!
